Start on your journey to learn the art and sport of backcountry skiing. Join other women. Learn to:

• use backcountry ski gear uphill and down
• choose routes and navigate in winter backcountry terrain
• assess winter hazards

Who

Female-identifying individuals ages 12+. Intermediate+ skiers. Reasonably fit. No backcountry experience needed, but all levels welcome.

This course aims to boost your skills and confidence.

One-Day Format ($175)

Bring backcountry touring equipment.

Morning Prep Session

• Preparing for winter travel: weather reports, avalanche bulletins, terrain maps
• Preparing your pack for a tour
• Clothing

Field Session

• Avalanche transceiver wear and care. Basic overview of how to use avalanche rescue equipment.
• Efficient uphill skinning techniques
• Tip on how to transition between uphill skinning and downhill skiing
• Powder skiing
• Route finding over snow in the mountains
